Long Time Mt. Airy Councilman Dies

Delaine Hobbs passed away Thurs. Morning, according to town officials.
A former member of the Mount Airy Town Council has died. R. Delaine Hobbs, 81, passed away Thursday morning.
He served on the Council from 1966 to 2002. He was Secretary of the Council from 1966-1988, and President of the Board from 1988-2002..

In honor of Hobbs’ 36 years of service to the community, Mayor Patrick Rockinberg has ordered that all flags flown on Mount Airy town property be lowered to half staff beginning at sunrise on Friday, May 13th, 2016 until his interment which has not yet been determined.
