Suspects Identified in Series of Commercial Thefts and Burglaries in Frederick County

One person has been arrested and criminal charges are pending against others.


FREDERICK, MD.  (LG)     As the investigation continues, a suspect has been identified and arrested for several related property crimes that occurred near Adamstown, Jefferson, and in Urbana.

In a press release, the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office said 46 year old Mark Miller, of Quincy, Pennsylvania, was taken into custody by Pennsylvania State Police for outstanding warrants through Frederick County.  Several other suspects were also identified and criminal charges are pending.

According to investigators, a commercial burglary happened in Adamstown, where property was stolen and damaged. A theft from commercial vehicles was also committed resulting in damaged vehicles, and police said several thousand dollars of frozen food was stolen near Jefferson. Then police said in another incident, tools and a trailer were taken from a business in Urbana. Detectives also learned that allied agencies were investigating other similar crimes in surrounding jurisdictions.

After a search and seizure warrant was issued at the suspect’s residence, police recovered over 100 tools and other suspected stolen items, estimated at over $10,000 in value. Also, more than $1,500 worth of stolen frozen food was confiscated.  In addition, Miller’s vehicle was seized, along with the stolen trailer, police added.
