Swanton, Md (K M) The investigation continues into a fatal fire in Garrett County.
The Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office says deputies with the Garrett County Sheriff’s Office were first on the scene of a mobile home fire in Swanton early Monday morning followed shortly by the Deer Park Volunteer Fire Company. Both agencies responded to 911 calls from neighbors about an explosion and fire.
Fire fighters found the remains of the victim inside a mobile home. The body was taken to the State Medical Examiner’s Office to determine the identity, and cause of death.
The State Police Criminal Enforcement Division is assisting in the investigation of this fatality.
