Frederick, Md. (DG) – Monocacy Boulevard between Gas House Pike and Schifferstadt Boulevard and East Church Street in Frederick is expected to reopen to traffic late this summer.
That span of Monocacy Blvd has been closed since the fall of 2017. Road crews have been constructing a new bridge over the Monocacy River, rehabilitating an existing bridge, and installing four new traffic lanes.
The project has been delayed due to exceptionally wet weather.
Officials report the new Monocacy Boulevard will be straighter, safer, and less likely to flood.
