A celebration of life will take place on Saturday, June 29th.
Libertytown, Md (KM) Funeral plans have been announced for Libertytown Volunteer Fire Fighter Mike Powers, who passed away on Tuesday after responding to a vehicle crash on Route 26 near Unionville Road.
The Frederick County Division of Fire and Rescue Services says Powers’ family will receive friends on Friday, June 28th at the Libertytown Volunteer Fire Department from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM, and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The fire hall is located at 12, 027 South Street in Libertytown.
A celebration of his life will take place on Saturday, June 29th beginning at 11:00 AM. Powers will be laid to rest at Glade Cemetery.
The Governor has ordered Maryland’s flag be lowered at half-staff until the evening of the day Powers is buried.
Powers, 70, had been a member of the Libertytown Volunteer Fire Company for more than 40 years, and a volunteer fire fighter in Frederick County for more than 50 years, serving at Brunswick and Carroll Manor Fire Companies before coming to Libertytown.
