Police believe alcohol and speed are contributing factors
Frederick, Md. (DG) – A fiery crash sent three people to the hospital early this (Thursday) morning.
The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office responded to Elmer Deer Road and Elmer Road shortly after 2 AM for a serious accident involving a Volkswagen Golf.
Police say the Volkswagen was traveling westbound along Elmer Deer Road when the vehicle went off to the right side and hit a drainage culvert, coming to rest on Elmer Road. The vehicle burst into flames, ejecting at least one of the occupants.
The driver of the vehicle, Ryan Tydings, 26, suffered non-life threatening injuries and was transported to Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center in Baltimore.
The passengers in the vehicle, Jessica Crum, 23, and Alexander Dennie, 23, were flown to Shock Trauma in Baltimore. Both listed in critical but stable condition.
