The superintendent said they still have more to do
Hagerstown, MD – Washington County Public Schools received some good news this week as the Maryland Comprehensive Assessment Program showed they hit all-time high performances for Mathematics and English Language Arts.
WCPS students recorded in grades 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8 achieved an all-time high in mathematics and English language arts at the highest performance level.
Washington County Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Boyd Michael said the county still has more progress to make, but their main focus is not test scores.
“The goals for this year would be to continue to put our students first,” Michael said. “It’s what we do in Washington County; think about each decision.”
WCPS staff will present a comprehensive report MCAP results during the September 3 Board of Education meeting, which begins at 6:00pm at the Center for Education Services.
