Frederick, Md (KM) The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office says an escapee from the Work Release Center was located in Martinsburg, West Virginia, where he was taken into custody without incident by the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities say during an announcement made on Monday morning at 8:30, all inmates at the Work Release Center were told to report to work. Officials noticed William Glenn Smith, 51, did not report, . Detention Center staff searched his cell, and noticed items had been placed under the blankets on his bed to resemble a body. He was committed to the Detention Center on March 4th for 2nd-degree assault and false imprisonment.
