He said it will be called ‘Md. Strong: Road Map To Recovery.’
Annapolis, Md (KM) A recovery plan from the COVID-19 pandemic is expected to be released this week. During his Friday news conference, Governor Larry Hogan said the number of coronavirus cases and deaths in Maryland continue to rise, but there some positive signs. He says now is the time to discuss h ow to reopen the economy when it’s safe to do so
“The recovery plan that we have been developing over many weeks has four building blocks that must solidly in place before the lifting of restrictions,”: he said.
Those “four building blocks” are expanding the state’s testing capacity, increasing the hospital surge capability, increasing the supply of personal protective equipment such as masks, gowns and gloves, and a robust contact tracing operation, which helps track down the people a COVID-19 patient had contact with. The Governor says his staff has been making progress on that criteria.
The plan to be introduced will be called “Maryland Strong: Road Map to Recovery.”
Masks
Last week, the Governor issued an executive order requiring all Marylanders to wear a face covering when entering a retail establishment or other essential business But everyone is happy with about it.
At the Friday news conference, Hogan replied to those who say it’s an infringement on their rights, saying it’s not about protecting your rights or yourself. “The best science that we have shows that people might not know that they’re carriers of the virus, and through no fault of their own could infect other people,” he said. “And spreading this disease infringes on your neighbor’s rights.”
