Crews will be replacing aging culverts
Thurmont, Md. (DG) – Route 77 in the Thurmont area will be closing next month so road crews can replace aging culverts.
The Maryland State Highway Administration is reporting the closure on Route 77 will take place between April 30 – May 21, 2020.
A detour will take drivers from Route 77 to Route 15 to Route 550 to Foxville Deerfield Road and back to Route 77.
The work is part of a $2.1 million project to replace 46 aging culverts.
Approximately 3,900 vehicles use this section of Route 77 each day, so motorists are encouraged to allow extra commuting time during the project.
