The rate has been below 5% since June 25th 
ANNAPOLIS, MD – Governor Larry Hogan today announced that Maryland’s COVID-19 positivity rate has reached a new all-time low of 3.08%, as ICU levels declined slightly to 102-a decrease of 5 in the last 24 hours.
Maryland’s seven-day average positivity rate is at the lowest level reported since the pandemic began. The daily positivity rate is 2.71%, and the statewide positivity rate has been under 5% since June 25th.
Over the last several weeks, state health officials have focused on addressing rising infection rates among young people. The positivity rate among Marylanders under 35 has declined by 47.3% since July 23, to 3.58%. The positivity rate among Marylanders 35 and older is 2.76%.
The positivity rate for 23 of the state’s 24 jurisdictions is below 5%.
Since testing has begun, Maryland has conducted 1,722,957 COVID-19 tests, including 29,379 tests over the last 24 hours. 1,204,267 Marylanders have now been tested for COVID-19, representing 19.9% of the state’s population.
