No increase in the number of deaths.
Frederick, Md (KM) The number of coronavirus cases continue going up in Frederick County. The Health Department says as of Tuesday afternoon, there are 4,546 COVID-19 cases locally; that’s 12 more than on Monday. The number of deaths since the pandemic began stands at 129.
The seven-day positivity rate is 2.9%, which is the percentage of patients who tested positive for the coronavirus out of all of those tested over a seven-day period.
In Washington County, coronavirus cases are also on the increase. The Joint Information Center says there 2,083 COVID-19 cases, which is an increase of 51 since the last update on October 16th. The number of deaths since the beginning of the pandemic is 42.
The positivity rate is 2.09%.
There are currently 18 patients hospitalized with COVID-19, a decrease of seven since the last update on October 16th.
On the state level, the Maryland Department of Health reports 136,744 COVID-19 cases as of Tuesday, which is an increase of 59 from Monday. Deaths are at 3,904. which is nine more than the previous day.
The State Health Department also says as of Tuesday there are 1,688,161 people testing negative for the coronavirus, which is 7,593 more than the previous day. The testing volume is 3,121,799 as of Tuesday, which is 17,966 more than on Monday.
The percentage patients testing positive is 3.27%, The number of people hospitalized for COVID-19 is 464, 30 more than the day before.
