Positivity rates just over 9%.
Frederick, Md (KM) COVID-19 cases keep going up in Frederick County. As of Thursday, the Health Department says there are 13, 836 coronavirus cases locally, and that’s 160 more than on Wednesday. The number of deaths stands at 209, two more than the day before.
The local, seven-day positivity rate is 9.2%. That’s the percentage of patients testing positive for COVID-19 out of all of those who were tested over a seven-day period.
Across the region, the Maryland Department of Health reports Montgomery County continues to have the highest number of COVID-19 cases. As of Thursday, it has 52,892 cases, and 1,167 deaths. Carroll County has 6,139 cases, and 174 deaths. In Washington County, there are 52,122 coronavirus cases, and 1, 167 deaths. Howard County reports 13,070 COVID-19 cases, and 182 deaths.
Statewide, the Maryland Health Department says there are 317,815 COVID-19 cases as of Thursday,, which is 2,948 more than on Wednesday. The number of deaths is 6,277, and that’s 44 more than the day before.
Maryland’s positivity rate is 8.43%, and the number patients hospitalized for the coronavirus as of Thursday is 7,843 which is 86 less than on Wednesday.
