Frederick County Still In Phase 1A In State’s Vaccination Plan

The Health Department says it will continue vaccinating those  75 and older.

Frederick, Md (KM) When it comes to the COVID-19 vaccine distribution schedule, Maryland is now in Phase 1C. That means adults between 65 and 74, public health and safety workers, and essential employees in food and agriculture production, manufacturing, the U-S Postal Service, public transit and grocery stores are now eligible to receive the vaccine.

But the Frederick County Health Department says there is limited supply, and it will continue to distribute the vaccine to those in Phase 1A, and people who are 75 and older and live in work in Frederick County. Those in 1A include health care providers, nursing home residents and staff, first responders and correctional officers. The Health Department says it’s working on how best to prioritize educators as well.

It also reminds citizens they   need to register to receive the vaccine by going on line, or contacting the call center by phone. On line, you can register at FrederickCountyMD.gov/CovidVaccine. Residents can also call the call center from 8:00 AM until 5:00 PM Monday through Friday. For English speakers, call 301-600-7900; in Spanish, call 301-600-7905. If you’ve already registered, you don’t need to register a second time.

The Health Department says at this time you can only register your interest in getting the vaccine, and not set up an appointment. Your name will be put on a list, and you will contacted later about setting up an appointment.
