Washington, D.C. (KB) The goal is to get the economy back on track. That’s why Sixth District Representative David Trone supported the $1.9 trillion dollar American Rescue Plan designed to help the country deal with economic fallout from the COVID-19 pandemic.

He said the country needs this bill.

“You have to take it one day at a time, understand what’s needed, and hopefully this will be the last bill,” explained Trone.

The Congressman said another goal of the legislation is to get everyone vaccinated.

“Vaccines for everybody in our country, and we believe everyone will have a vaccine available, if you’re above the age of 18, by May 31,” he stated.

He also said the legislation will help get cash into people’s pockets. The Congressman added that the plan increases the child tax credit for families, which will benefit many kids.

“11% of our kids are under the poverty line, that’s going to get 50% of them above the poverty line,” Trone explained.

The legislation will provide $350 billion dollars to state and local governments and more than $50 million of that will go to Frederick County.
