Frederick, Md (KM) The Frederick County Health Department says it will follow the state’s timeline for COVID-19 vaccine distribution depending on availability.

The agency says it has begun scheduling Frederick County residents 65 and older. On Tuesday, March 23fd, anyone age 60 and older will be eligible to receive the vaccine.

All this depends on vaccine availability. The Health Department says it’s expected to receive 1800 doses per week.

The county also says those who have been eligible for the vaccine since it was first introduced in December but have not received their shots can still register. That includes front line health care workers, first responders, correctional officers and staff, front line judiciary staff, those 75 and older, residents and employees of nursing homes and those who live in independent living or other congregate facilities. Also included are public  health workers, essential  workers in lab services, food and agricultural production, manufacturing, the US Postal Service, public transit and grocery store workers.

Those interested in being vaccinated can fill out a Vaccine Interest Form at the Frederick County Health Department website. For other vaccinators, go to covidvax.maryland.gov, The State of Maryland has opened pre-registration for its mass vaccination sites for those age 60 and older at 1-855-MD-GOVAX (1-855-634-6829).  A mass vaccination site is expected to open on Thursday in Hagerstown.
