Pools will have capacity limits and be cleaned and disinfected after each swimming session.
Frederick, Md (KM) Good news for swimmers: the City of Frederick says both the William R. Diggs and Edward P. Thomas Pools will be open this summer.
The Diggs Pool will open on Saturday, May 29th. The city says pre-registration is required to reserve a spot during the two-hour pool session, and and will be limited to city residents. Last summer, the Diggs pool opened in mid-July, and served city families through Labor Day with restricted capacity.
The Thomas Pool will open in mid-June. The exact opening details will come at a later date. Last summer, the Thomas Pool was closed due to the impact of COVID-19.
The City says hours of operations at both pools will be determined in phases. They will also be in line with CDC, state, county and city guidelines pertaining to COVID-19. Physical distancing will be maintained, and clearing and disinfection will take place between each swimming session.
To register for pool use, you can use the city’s registration system, WebTrac.
