They were halted last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Frederick, Md (KM) On-site family visits will resume on a modified basis this coming Saturday at the Frederick County Adult Detention Center.
Visits to female inmates will take place on Saturdays from 9:00 AM until 4:00 PM; and male inmate visits are scheduled for Sundays from 9:00 AM until 4:00 PM. Juvenile visits will be on Thursdays from 12:30 PM until 4:00 PM; and work release visits will be held on Saturdays 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM, and 8:00 PM until 10:00 PM.
Registrations for the visits begin 30-minutes before the start times, and end 30-minutes prior to the end times.
In-persons were stopped in March, 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
“This will be the first step in opening the facility to the public and family members,” says Lt. Col. Vic DeLauter, the Warden at the Adult Detention Center, in a statement.. “However, if the current pandemic trends start to go back up, we will have to evaluate our processes and these visitations may have to stop.”
Video visitations will continue to be available for inmates on a daily basis, the Detention Center says.
“My ADC leaders and staff members have worked hard to keep the pandemic from shutting down our facility,” Lt. Col. DeLauter says. “We appreciate the public’s understanding and apologize for the inconvenience COVID-19 has caused.” .
